The CSPG presents Tracks Awards annually to members of the CSPG who have made outstanding contributions to the Society through committee or other work. In essence, volunteers who have made ‘tracks’ for others to follow. This year we are recognizing three individuals whose efforts span the major elements of our Society’s programs:

Mike Desroches

Mike has been a dedicated and crucial Student Industry Field Trip (SIFT) committee member for over 12 years and Chair and Treasurer for 2 years each between 1995 and 2006. Mike’s behind the scenes guidance has helped SIFT become the successful program it is today. He always made time in his busy schedule for SIFT from selecting students to attending committee organizing. Every year Mike showed up numerous evenings to help out the students with the exploration game and for many years he helped organize and lead the 4 day Field Trip into the Rockies.
